Federal income tax (FIT) is withheld from employee earnings each payroll. It is calculated using the following information:
 
  • The amount earned                                                                                     
  • Employee's marital status
  • Employee's federal withholding allowance amount
  • Any other additional withholding amounts specified by the employee
